We had a great stay at this perfectly located hotel. Nice pool, friendly staff and wonderful botanics.
Peacock was noisy early in the morning.
The hotel grounds were beautiful and well tended. Staff were quite helpful and friendly. Hotels' room were clean and nicely decorated. Access to ruins are so convenient, we were able to take a break and have a nice lunch at the hotel and then go back to the site.
The insects (mosquitos) were an issue in the room because the mosquito net is not designed to keep them away (has openings everywhere). The second night we decided to tie the mosquito net as well as we could and had a better night sleep.
Close to Hacienda Chichen where I can get actual good food
Overpriced. hotel that is not very well maintained.
A resort /spa facility that was very tranquil
The location. 10 minutes walk and you are in Chichen Itza main square. You look out of the window of your room and (if you are in the right room) you see the Observatory. The hotel itself is very good and comfortable and the rooms spacious. Staff works like a clock, nice and efficient.
WiFi barely reached our room (but I had a USB key connection as back-up) and WiFi is available in the lobby and around, so no problem.
The hotel and area were very authentic to the region and the hotel has a private entrance directly into the Maya ruins of Chichen Itza. Highly recommend you pay extra for a personal guided tour of the ruins. Ask for Juan. He was excellent.
The room air conditioner was not as cold as we would have liked but it was adequate. The ambience of the hotel made up for this.
the colonial hacienda feel is excellent with luxurious gardens and very nice views of the ruins which are in fact connected with the property, making it ideal if you want to visit chichenitza - book a personnel guide with the hotel employees (500 pesos in spanish, 600 english) the night before and visit the ruins at 08am virtually alone - its worth all the money
altough it is a nice experience to really feel the immersion in the jungle in a colonial style, you feel somehow youre just another tourist staying for the night. The restaurant is expensive compared to other high level places in the region (i tried at least 2 in merida) and you feel that happens because you have no other option unless you go to the next village which is not easy
Location, beautiful grounds, beautiful room & friendly staff
The rooms are huge, the bathroom as well (the window was as big as the wall to the yard) and the lunch buffett was extraordinary! Try to hide when groups march in, the mariachi singers wont stop while your lunch!
It was the most lush, gorgeous hotel with tremendously beautiful grounds, beautiful old Spanish buildings. However, there was nothing 'snooty' about it. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
It was a wonderful way to spend our last two days of our two week trip to this part of Mexico and Belize.
A very attractive hotel in a beautiful setting. Located beside the ruins of Chicen Itza. The hotel has a lovely pool and restaurant and spa facilities.
Although the rooms were reasonably priced, everything else was very expensive compared to elsewhere in Mexico. Drinks, taxis and meals were all well above average. The pool closed at seven which was a shame. Dont stay here if you are a heavy smoker, there is a total ban so you actually have to leave the grounds to smoke.
amazingly on the site of the mayan ruins at chichen itza
Very friendly staff location is excellent, just 5 mins from Xichen ruins. Ideal to avoid the tourist crowds if you visit the ruins early in the morning A hidden hotel surrounded by nature
Brilliantly located (next to the Chichen Itza archaeological site, having even a separate entrance to it) hotel where you can stay in a nice, luxurious setting (beautifully restored building with a beautiful garden and 3 swimming pools) for a very reasonable price. Here you can come to peace and relax the evening before you visit the Chichen Itza ruins at the crack of dawn!
